RE Insider is a discussion center for the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.

RESPA The Act prohibits kickbacks between lenders and third-party settlement service agents in the real estate settlement process (Section 8 of RESPA).

RESPA requires lenders to provide a good faith estimate for all the approximate costs of a particular loan and finally a HUD-1 (for purchase real estate loans) or a HUD-1A (for refinances of real estate loans) at the closing of the real estate loan.

The final HUD-1 or HUD-1A allows the borrower to know specifically the costs of the loan and to whom the fees are being allotted.

    Regarding out-sourcing jobs to India – keep real estate jobs in California

    I agree we should keep California jobs in California – What will happen to our economy and people who depend on these jobs. I use American Home Shield for my Home Warranty Yes Stewart Title – & Of course Property I.D.

    What do people in india know about Calironia Real Estate?

    We have outsourced jobs to Bangalore, India – Who will take care of us if we don’t take care of our own Californians? We should hold on to our jobs – No more outsourcing –

  2. I would like to start getting the word out about a outsourcing of SS facilitation process that BOA is now doing. They are contracting with outside vendors to ‘supposedly’ facilitate an expedited SS process. They vendor deceives everyone implying that they are part of BOA and states that BOA will only provide a 5% commission to agents. What they don’t tell you is that they charge 1% to BOA, which is why BOA only provides 5% commission. There is much more to this and the deception that is involved and this should be known to both Home Owners and Agents. Please contact me.

  3. I learned of this service through Property I.D. seminar at the Keller Willians Silicon Valley Realty Campbell office this past week. The speaker was Mailana, attorney for Prop I.D. The seminar was excellent and she offered to forward the article.. “Where have all the buyers gone?”
